Meet Dr. Alex Fondaw, MD

Dr. Fondaw is a Bariatric, Foregut, and General Surgeon based in Austin, TX, with subspecialties in Bariatric Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery working with the Capital Surgeon Group. His experience encompasses bariatric medicine and surgery, foregut surgery, and various minimally invasive surgical techniques as well as interventional endoscopy.
Born and raised in Kansas, he attended the University of Kansas for Medical School and Undergrad. He then had general surgery residency training in Chicago at St. Joseph's Hospital and after that went to Kansas City for his Bariatric and Foregut Fellowship, and now practicing in Austin since 2025.
